Jennifer Seymour G321 Foundation Portfolio: Planning

INITIAL IDEAS:

WE have been inspired by this opening sequence to the horror film ‘Tears’:

We like the idea of someone watching the girl while she is playing on the swing we like this as it creates a creepy atmosphere. It also makes us want to know what is going to happen next.

For our opening sequence we are hoping to create something similar to this opening sequence as it has really inspired us.

We are planning to film out opening sequence in the burn valley next to Hartlepool Sixth Form College as it has a park with swings and slides.

We are planning to use lots of close ups of the swing while its swinging to make us guess what will happen next. We will also use lots of fast cuts with lots of different shots and angles of the swing and the person swinging on it to create tension. We will also use a lot of blocking shots to create this tension and to create the idea of someone watching the girl on the swing.

STORY LINE
The story line we have thought of is a little girl, Kate has just moved here and the house she has moved into is haunted as a 13 year old girl was murdered by her sister 25 years ago and the house has been empty ever since. The girl comes back for revenge and Kate is her only option.
